Red Burchfield, Mission Director
red.burchfield@elcaregion1.org
Rev. Brian "Red" Burchfield has served rural, suburban and urban congregations in Iowa, Oregon, Colorado, Washington and through Global Missions in Cape Town, South Africa. Red seeks to engage leaders in the formation of evangelizing congregations that make disciples for Jesus Christ and equip people to use their gifts for God's reign in the world. He sees great opportunities for individual and congregational transformation and outreach in Synods and congregations of the "None Zone" (as the Pacific Northwest is often called) by leaning into and reclaiming our deeply biblical Lutheran voice for the gospel. Red is personally committed to doing the "white privilege" and "anti-racism" work of the dominant culture and listening to the multicultural voices among us as an essential part of transformational outreach.
